Prayaag 2016 – Method in Madness
Prayaag, the annual corporate and inter B-school festival of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) was held for the eleventh time in the month of February 2016. The festival was held on 26th & 27th February 2016 and the theme this time around was ‘Method in Madness’. We witnessed participation from more than 30 colleges and all the top 10 management colleges in the country competed for the top honors at Prayaag, with the total prize money on offer in excess of 6 lakhs.
The festival was launched this year with a panel discussion on ‘India’s growth story’ in association with Indian Merchant’s Chamber (IMC). Many senior dignitaries including Mr. Kaustubh Dhavse, Mr. Shripad Ranade, Ms. Bhavna Doshi participated in the panel and enriched the discussion with their rich experiences and views.
Prayaag, living up to its tradition, hosted events across various domains. The first day offered a chance to the participants to showcase their marketing skills in the SMEdge competition hosted in association with Triveni Ethnic Wear. Further we had our case study competition – Stratethon hosted in association with Kanakia. The day was also interspersed with fun events like Sports Quiz, and Vadilal’s Hogathon.
The second day offered more in the form of GIC Revolution Presentations and Kwizkraft. For the first time ever, we had a social event in our festival – ‘Prayaas’ hosted in association with an NGO – Yuva Pratisthan. This event offered some much needed perspective to the participants and organizers alike. Finally, the DJ party & Karaoke nights helped the participants let their hair down and revel in the electrifying atmosphere.
The Sumedh Patil Memorial Table Tennis Tournament was held on 28th February 2016 in memory of Mr. Sumedh Patil, a student of the MMS Batch of 2015, who unfortunately passed away in April 2015. He had represented the University of Mumbai in various Table Tennis tournaments during graduation as well as post-graduation days. The tournament witnessed overwhelming response from all the distinguished JBIMS alumni & other colleges including SIMSREE, KJ SIMSR & Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research.
Prayaag – 2016 represented everything our beloved college stands for – Excellence, Growth and Traditions. Apart from the huge number of participants from B-Schools all over the country and the exciting events, Prayaag had a unique social perspective this time. It seems certain that we would build on our achievements this year to deliver on the great expectations set for Prayaag-2017 and continue being one of the top B-School festivals in the country.
