September 8, 2017: The campus round of the prestigious HUL L.I.M.E. Season 9 was held at JBIMS. The jury consisted of Mr Anit Ramawat, Category Channel Manager-Skin Cleansing Category & Retail and Chemist Channels at HUL, Mr Anant Rangaswami, Editor, CNBC-TV18, accompanied by Dr Anil Pande, Associate Professor, JBIMS.
The theme for season 9 of HUL L.I.M.E was application of newer business models in the laundry business space. Creating an innovative but feasible “Laundry Service Model” for provision of laundry services to diverse consumer segments by associating popular brands such as Rin and Surf was the case for the event.
The top five teams selected for the campus round out of all the entries were – Victorious Secrets, Nimbu Marke, Brainy Fools, Dukandaars and Ek Se Bhale Do. The rules of the game were explained and the teams were required to pitch their idea post which a Q&A session would follow. This required the contestants to think on their feet and answer crisply and confidently to the questions put forth by the panel.
The idea was to provide affordable, convenient and quick laundry services to different segments of the society and the teams were tested on the feasibility of the model and achievability of the targets. With many creative ideas introduced by the teams, in the end Team Nimbu Marke (Aniket Tanawade, Manas Dabke, Vaishnavi Shrungarpawar) were declared the campus winners for JBIMS for their idea of leveraging the popularity of the RIN Brand to meet the laundry needs of the bottom of the pyramid consumer base.
Certainly, it was a great experience for the teams as well as the audience to witness varied innovative perspectives at one of India’s major B-school competitions.
