December 14, 2017: JBIMS had the pleasure of hosting dignitaries from Raymond Limited for a guest session. Mr. Vinod Salvi, Business Head, JK Helene Curtis and Mr. Amit Bankhele, HR Business Partner, Raymond Limited conducted the session at the campus.
The session commenced with few questions regarding brand relevance and brand preference in context of the consumers. Mr. Salvi paralleled few toothpaste brands and rationalized the reasons for Patanjali being efficacious in changing brand preferences for the Indian consumers. Further, he engaged with the batch on the progression of customer journey relating the set to toothpaste market. He emphasized on the importance of selection of the product or category, consideration of different brands and the final selection of the brand and its product.
Further, Mr. Salvi focussed on the importance of innovation in improving brand positioning and relevance. He explained how providing new reasons for the customers to select a particular category or product can aid in increasing demand. He spoke of the magnitude of innovation in turning market positions as well as elucidated on the significance of communication and execution in terms of innovation.
On a concluding note, Mr. Salvi discussed about current trends that aided in bettering brand preference in a certain category. It was then followed by a Q & A session. The students gained valuable insights from the session that would certainly help them in understanding brands better.
